Purposeful Marketing

How I Write Content for You

I work with folks who offer great services and products to maintain long-term customers.

I help companies and businesses who know they must understand the client's priorities, interests and needs in order to provide the right solutions.

I love to learn about new businesses. It's fascinating what I discover. As an electronic technician, policy analyst and aviation security inspector, I've worked with a lot of different companies.

I value knowing what needs to be done and making it happen. Not only that, but recognition is important because we all need acknowledgement from time to time. Here's what this is all about:

Effective, clear business writing increases your chances to win that contract or get a loan

As a business writer, I take a load off you - writing proposals and plans or other marketing materials- so you can concentrate on higher priorities, like strategizing to grow your business. Or, freeing up your time to spend with loved ones and pursue hobbies. The secret is -

I have two ears and one mouth, and I use them in the proper ratio and proportion

Using the investigator skills I learned as an aviation security inspector,

  • I ask you lots of questions about your company, products, and services. I listen, take notes, and ask you more questions to make sure I understand exactly what you're telling me. In other words, I seek to understand your priorities, interests and needs.

  • I uncover what sets you apart from the competition. Whether it's emphasized in storyboarding or is part of your business plan, I learn what makes you different.

  • I conduct research on your industry and study how your competitors advertise and market. I look for the difference between you and them. It may be big, but it's most likely something subtle. I developed solid research and analysis skills as a federal government policy analyst, working on congressional inquiries and Freedom of Information Act requests.

  • I create, edit, and present you with a first draft. We discuss what changes you may want. I'll fix it up, and you'll be presented with the final copy.

I offer flexible payment options. Let's discuss this upfront, along with amount of work you want done. For large projects, I accept partial payments in several stages.

I return your phone calls and emails promptly. You expect a timely response if you're paying somebody to do a job for you. If I encounter something that will delay deliver of your project, I'll tell you as quickly as possible. And I'll have some suggestions for solving the problem.

I'm ready to talk with you - call me at 202.725.1422 or email me with your priorities, interests and needs.
